Application Overview

This case study presents a CIJ (Continuous Inkjet) coding application for fresh eggs, printing directly on eggshells. The facility required reliable, high-speed marking directly on product surfaces and packaging materials.

Challenge

Direct printing on curved, porous eggshells required food-grade ink that adhered safely.

Solution

We deployed a compatible CIJ inkjet printer configured with optimized ink for the target substrate. A specialized CIJ system with food-contact approved ink printed traceability codes on eggshells.

Result

The system met all food safety standards with clear permanent codes across the supply chain. The CIJ system also reduced overall coding costs through our compatible consumables program.
