Application Overview

This case study presents a CIJ (Continuous Inkjet) coding application for plastic bottle caps and closures. The facility required reliable, high-speed marking directly on product surfaces and packaging materials.

Challenge

The small curved cap surface made consistent coding difficult. Codes needed to survive capping and shipping.

Solution

We deployed a compatible CIJ inkjet printer configured with optimized ink for the target substrate. A CIJ system with precision drop control printed date codes on cap tops at full production speed.

Result

The system achieved 99.8% readability on cap surfaces with zero misprints. The CIJ system also reduced overall coding costs through our compatible consumables program.
