Application Overview

This case study presents a CIJ (Continuous Inkjet) coding application for canned fruit packaging, marking can lids. The facility required reliable, high-speed marking directly on product surfaces and packaging materials.

Challenge

Precise ink placement was needed to avoid existing label graphics while maintaining legibility.

Solution

We deployed a compatible CIJ inkjet printer configured with optimized ink for the target substrate. The CIJ system printed batch numbers on can lids using fast-drying metal-surface ink.

Result

Production throughput increased by 20% as pre-printed label inventory was reduced. The CIJ system also reduced overall coding costs through our compatible consumables program.
