Application Overview

This case study presents a CIJ (Continuous Inkjet) coding application for aerosol spray cans for chemical and cosmetic products.

Challenge

Coding on curved metal can bodies required ink that withstood pressure and handling.

Solution

We deployed a compatible CIJ inkjet printer configured with optimized ink for the target substrate. CIJ printers with metal-adhesion ink printed batch codes on can bottoms at line speed.

Result

Durable codes remained legible through shipping storage and retail display. The CIJ system also reduced overall coding costs through our compatible consumables program.
