Application Overview

This case study presents a CIJ (Continuous Inkjet) coding application for PCBs and electronic assemblies.

Challenge

Coding on tiny components required ultra-precise ink placement and ink that withstood soldering.

Solution

We deployed a compatible CIJ inkjet printer configured with optimized ink for the target substrate. A high-resolution CIJ system printed date codes and revision numbers on PCBs with micron accuracy.

Result

Traceability compliance achieved with permanent codes surviving all downstream manufacturing. The CIJ system also reduced overall coding costs through our compatible consumables program.
