Un codificador que se para a las tres de la mañana recibe la llamada. El que imprime algo pálido durante dos semanas recibe una nota que nadie lee, y ese segundo es el que acaba fallando.

La primera pregunta: ¿consumible o hardware?

Nueve de cada diez llamadas de servicio en un codificador VJ terminan en un consumible, un ajuste o un filtro. No en una placa, no en una bomba.

Así que antes de pedir el servicio, responda una pregunta: ¿cambió algo? Un cartucho nuevo ayer. Un lote de tinta distinto. Una línea que pasó de dos a tres turnos. Si algo cambió, sospeche eso primero.

Si nada cambió en meses y la máquina empeoró poco a poco, probablemente sea un filtro o una boquilla acercándose a su intervalo.

Revise el chip antes que el cartucho

Cuando el codificador rechaza un cartucho que ya funcionaba, el primer sospechoso es el chip y el segundo el cartucho. Esto desorienta a mucha gente, porque el mensaje apunta al consumible mientras el fallo está en la identificación.

Saque el cartucho y compruebe si el controlador lee algún volumen. Si lee cero en existencias que funcionaban el mes pasado, la variable es el chip.

Si el estante tiene chips de tinta compatible VJ etiquetados por versión de firmware, el técnico empareja un lote en segundos.

Viscosidad y el desvanecimiento de dos semanas

El desvanecimiento lento es el fallo peor diagnosticado de una línea CIJ. El código se aclara durante quince días, el operario retoca ajustes, y cuando el código falla al escanear la máquina ya trabaja fuera de sus parámetros normales.

Tres causas. Deriva de viscosidad, que la máquina suele reportar. Boquilla parcialmente obstruida, que se ve como puntos faltantes en un patrón fijo. Filtro saturándose, que se ve como presión cayendo despacio.

Qué tener listo cuando llega el servicio

Un técnico con los repuestos correctos termina en una hora. Uno que adivina tarda tres y agenda una segunda visita.

Tenga cuatro cosas: modelo y número de serie, versión de firmware, referencias de los consumibles cargados y los tres últimos mensajes de fallo con fecha.

En lo último falla casi todo el mundo, porque nadie apunta los mensajes. Una hoja de cinco líneas pegada dentro de la puerta del armario lo resuelve.

Contratos y los registros que acortan las llamadas

Pregunte qué cubre realmente el tiempo de respuesta. Horas naturales o de trabajo. Con repuestos o solo mano de obra. Un contrato que promete «ocho horas» pero empieza a contar a las nueve de la mañana son veinte horas en la práctica, lo cual está bien si dejó existencias.

Lleve el registro de fallos, guarde un chip de cada lote con la fecha en la bolsa y mantenga las referencias de consumibles en una hoja. Tres hábitos baratos que llevan el repuesto correcto a planta.
