Eine Großhandelsbestellung für Tintenchips sieht selten aus wie die Muster. Sie kommt als gemischter Karton mit drei Kartuschenfamilien, einer handschriftlichen Teilenummer auf dem Lieferschein und einem Termin, den ein Kunde gesetzt hat, der bereits zwei Wochen im Verzug ist.

Was Importeure tatsächlich bestellen

Das Volumen verteilt sich über Familien statt sich in einer zu bündeln. Ein Händler, der kleine Betriebe beliefert, hält am Ende Chips für vier oder fünf Kartuschentypen, weil seine Kunden genau die fahren, und der Abstand zwischen schnellster und langsamster Position ist meist größer als erwartet.

Mindestmengen gelten bei Chips meist pro Beutel, nicht pro Karton. Besteht ein Lieferant auf einer Familie pro Karton, frisst die Fracht die Marge der langsam drehenden Positionen schon vor der zweiten Sendung.

Verhandeln Sie den Mischkarton früh. Er ist die einzige Änderung, die einem Händler ein breites Sortiment ohne totes Lager erlaubt. Kann ein Lieferant nicht mischen, fragen Sie warum und hören Sie zu.

Tinte reist mit dem Chip

Industrietinte und der kompatible Chip, der sie freigibt, kommen in der Praxis im gleichen Takt, weil ein Kunde, der Tinte kauft, den Chip dazu erwartet. Beides auf verschiedene Lieferanten zu verteilen erzeugt ein Supportproblem, das niemand übernehmen will.
