Las máquinas Sojet aparecen donde nadie las planificó: una sala de empaque en Vietnam, un equipo manual de reserva en una planta de especias en Turquía, una línea CIJ pequeña montada sobre un transportador que ya existía. Por eso el consumible se compra mal. Nadie arma un plan de suministro para una máquina que se eligió porque era barata y estaba disponible.

Por qué el consumible Sojet se compra mal

Las plataformas grandes traen un hábito de compra incorporado: pedido anual, tinta, solvente y chips en un mismo calendario, y la planta se olvida del tema. Los equipos pequeños no reciben ese trato. El chip se compra cuando se acaba la bolsa, al primer precio que aparece.

Funciona hasta que deja de funcionar: la entrega sin revisión en la etiqueta, la tinta que se comporta distinto en una nave fría, el equipo manual que rechaza un cartucho que servía el mes pasado.

Qué debe coincidir en un chip compatible

Tres cosas, y solo tres: los datos de identificación que espera el controlador, el formato en que los espera y la versión de firmware del equipo que va a leerlos.

Con las dos primeras bien, la tercera igual muerde. Sojet fabrica equipos manuales y de línea pequeños desde hace años, y el firmware cambia en silencio. Un chip que convence a un controlador de hace cinco años no es necesariamente el que convence al que salió el trimestre pasado.

La pregunta útil no es si el chip funciona en Sojet, sino contra qué versiones de firmware se probó cada lote y en qué fecha. Quien responde eso en un párrafo ya hizo el trabajo que usted repetiría en su propio banco.

Lea la cotización como una lista de partes

Una cotización comprable nombra la familia de cartucho, la revisión del chip, el rango de firmware y la fecha de prueba. Menos que eso es una oferta inicial, no una respuesta.

Ojo con un número de parte que carga dos revisiones: pasa cuando un carrete viejo nunca se dio de baja, y reaparece como un rechazo del dos o tres por ciento que nadie explica. Pregunte cómo se etiqueta el carrete antes de salir del almacén.

El precio por millar también engaña. Lo que paga es el costo del chip puesto: flete, rechazos en banco, entregas con revisión equivocada y la hora del técnico averiguando cuál de las tres fue. Agregue esa columna a su comparativa.

Mínimos y el argumento de la caja mixta

Los mínimos de pedido suelen fijarse por bolsa, lo que conviene al proveedor y castiga en silencio a quien tiene parque variado. Siempre hay una familia de cartucho que casi no se mueve.

Pida caja mixta. Es la única concesión que decide si el estante de repuestos gana dinero o inmoviliza efectivo un año. Si el proveedor se niega, pregunte cuánto le cuesta mezclar. A veces la respuesta es logística honesta, a veces es costumbre.

Chips, tinta y solvente en un solo calendario

Compre tinta, solvente y chips en el mismo proveedor cuando pueda. La razón no es lealtad, es diagnóstico: cuando a las dos de la mañana el código sale pálido, una llamada debe cubrir todos los sospechosos — chip, lote de tinta, proporción de solvente, filtro.

Reparta eso entre tres proveedores y tendrá tres explicaciones amables y una línea parada. Arme la cadena de consumibles completa y mantenga los números de parte en una hoja que el turno de noche encuentre.

Dónde van los chips en el plan de repuestos

La mayoría de plantas guarda dos a cuatro semanas de chips y nada más. No se echan a perder como la tinta, pero los carretes se pierden y el firmware cambia, así que el stock viejo se vuelve chatarra sin que nadie lo note.

Importan las máquinas que imprimen trazabilidad. Un equipo manual que marca cajas de vez en cuando puede esperar un día. La codificadora que alimenta datos de lote y caducidad a una línea que no puede parar necesita una bolsa en el estante, con la versión de firmware anotada.

Cómo probar la primera bolsa

Pruebe en la máquina que va a usar los chips, no en la más cercana a la puerta. Corra un turno completo y no una impresión: los fallos que importan aparecen después de una hora de uso continuo.

Guarde un chip de cada lote en una bolsa rotulada con la fecha. Un año después esa bolsa responde preguntas que un hilo de correos nunca responderá, y no cuesta nada.

Antes de repetir el pedido

Tres preguntas siempre. ¿Cambió el firmware? ¿Cambió el lote? ¿Se movió algo del lado de la tinta?

Casi siempre la respuesta es no, no, no, y el pedido se procesa en cinco minutos. Cuando una es sí, revise la entrega antes de que llegue a la línea del cliente, no después. Esa costumbre es toda la diferencia entre comprar chips y sostener un suministro que mantiene las codificadoras trabajando.
