Why the Coder Stops Recognising the Cartridge
The chip on a Leibinger cartridge carries a counter and a usage record. When the count reaches the value the firmware expects, the machine refuses to print, regardless of how much ink remains. It is a control convention, not a measurement. What a Reset Restores and What It Cannot Fix

Two cases need a different path. If the cartridge is genuinely empty, a reset only postpones the stoppage and risks running dry mid-shift, which can damage the head. If the machine sits under a service agreement, an unauthorised intervention can affect warranty cover. Both belong in an escalation, not in improvisation.

Plants that lose the least production time treat chips as stock alongside ink and solvent. A spare chip on the shelf turns a two-hour wait for a technician into a ten-minute swap.
