El precio mayorista es lo más fácil de falsificar

Pregunte qué hay en el estante esta semana

Pida recuentos de existencias actuales de dos artículos concretos, no un catálogo. Una operación mayorista real responde en un día, porque el dato existe. Si la respuesta es una lista de productos sin cantidades, habla con alguien que compra después de que usted pida.

Pida los códigos de lote de la tinta y el disolvente que hay en stock, y cuántos lotes de profundidad tiene el inventario. Un mayorista con un lote por grado puede abastecerle de forma constante durante un año. Uno con cinco puede rebajar el precio y dejarle reajustando la codificadora cada mes.

La misma lógica vale para una codificadora CIJ que alimenta varias máquinas. La consistencia de una flota viene de la disciplina de lotes, no de comprar el bidón más barato cada trimestre.

Quién programa los chips

La programación propia es un compromiso de servicio. Significa que el proveedor puede responder cuando una versión de firmware cambia lo que acepta la máquina, y que los recambios llegan en días. Si la respuesta es que los chips vienen programados por un tercero, pregunte qué pasa cuando el stock de ese tercero se agota a mitad de pedido.

Para un pedido de tinta industrial para inyección, haga la misma pregunta sobre el fluido: ¿está formulado según una especificación que usted pueda inspeccionar, o reetiquetado de lo que llegó en el palé. Los documentos que se ven ganan a las garantías que no se ven.

Qué debe demostrar un pedido de prueba

Haga un pedido pequeño con tres condiciones: entrega dentro del plazo prometido, documentación con códigos de lote en cada caja y un contacto con nombre que responda cuando algo falle.

Si la prueba pasa, escale. Si el proveedor negocia la documentación pero no el precio, váyase. En el mayorista lo que realmente compra son las condiciones.
